Books in Homes Role Model
I’m excited to announce that I’ve taken on a new volunteering role with the amazing charitable foundation Books in Homes, and will be visiting schools as a Role Model to attend their Book Giving Assemblies, distributing books of choice to children in remote, disadvantaged and low socio-economic circumstances. This is an organisation that’s been on my radar for a long time, and I’m thrilled to finally be getting involved!
National Shared Reading Week
I was recently named an Ambassador of National Shared Reading Week, a fabulous initiative of Street Library Australia, with the aim of encouraging people to get together and READ! To this end, I had two opportunities to chat about shared reading on ABC Radio, and was interviewed in some interesting media articles.
But the most exciting part of NSRW was my own shared reading event - a glorious storytime in my front garden, just like in The Little Street Library! I met some lovely new neighbours as we shared stories in the sunshine - what a fabulous way to spend a Sunday morning!

To celebrate the launch of The Little Street Library, I wrote a piece about my own journey with my street library, Dumbledore!
